Arthur Lavel Jones Captured in Houston
HOUSTON, December 30, 2004 – A bystander identified Arthur Lavel Jones as an escaped prisoner from the Liberty County Jail to a Harris County Precinct 6 Constable Deputy in the area of Loop 610 and Highway 225 in Houston.
A foot pursuit began which ended near Broadway and Manchester in South East Houston. Approximately 5 Harris County Constable Deputies assisted by Houston Police Department Officers and an HPD Helicopter made the final capture.
According to Captain Billy Tidwell of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, Jones was taken without injury to him or law enforcement officers.
Liberty County
Sheriff’s Department officers had been working the area for the last
couple of days looking for Jones as a result of importation they had obtained
during their investigation since his escape, along with Anthony Fowler,
Christmas morning.
Jones is scheduled to be transported back to the Liberty County Jail Thursday afternoon.
