Head-On Collision on CR 2058

HARDIN, December 20, 2004 - The Hardin Volunteer Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle major accident on CR 2058 about 1 mile north of FM 834, east of Hardin around 4:45 PM on Monday.

According to Trooper Henry Boykin, a white Honda sedan traveling west on CR 2058 collided head on with a Dodge pickup traveling north in a 90 degree curve in the road.

The Honda was driven by Juvenal Torres age 44 of Hull. He along with his passenger, Ava Marie Torres age 47 of Hull were transported by Liberty County EMS to Liberty Dayton Community Hospital in stable condition. The air bags in the Honda deployed during the accident. Glare from the setting sun may have been a contributing factor in the accident.

The driver of the Dodge pickup was David Wayne Germany age 20 of Hull and his passenger Jerry Holland age 44 of Hull were not injured.

Mr. Torres received a citation for failure to give one half of the roadway.
