Fire Consumes Travel Trailer in Westlake

WESTLAKE, December 5, 2004 - Shortly after 8:00 PM on Sunday volunteer firefighters of the Westlake Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 700 Block of CR 4284 and found a travel trailer fully involved in flames in the driver way of a manufactured home.

According to the homeowner, the trailer was a 1959 model being used larger for storage and had no utilities hook-up to it at the time of the fire. No one lived in the trailer.

Firefighters cooled the propane tank near the trailer with water and other fought to put out the fire.

Heat from the fire interacting with overhead utility lines supplying the manufactured home interrupted the electric power supply to the home.
