Santa Makes Early Visit to Liberty
LIBERTY, December 23, 2004 - Late Thursday afternoon Santa paid a visit to Milam Discount Tire on US 90 to hand out presents and bicycles to children in our area.
David Milam and other sponsors organized this event where 125 bicycles and helmets as well as 300 other presents were given to children.
Santa and his helpers waited in an ambulance provided by Liberty County EMS to listen to kids Christmas wishes.
Area fire department from Liberty, Hull-Daisetta, Hardin, Dayton, Raywood and Tarkington helped assemble the bikes and support this event.
Children wrote a letters to Santa to be eligible for one of the bikes.
