Late Afternoon Accident in Ames Sends One to Local Hospital

AMES, December 13, 2004 - Late Monday afternoon a two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of US 90 and FM 160 in Ames around 5:15 PM.

Liberty County EMS responded to the scene and transported the driver of a green Pontiac traveling south on FM 160, Beaulah Barrett of Ames to Liberty Dayton Community Hospital as a precaution.

According to DPS Trooper Sean Cheshire, Janice Hill of Raywood traveling east on US 90 in a silver Ford Focus failed to stop for the red light at FM 160 in time and collided with the green Pontiac.

Mrs. Hill was issued a citation for Failure to stop at the red light.
