Juvenile Suspect Apprehended in Burglary in West Woodland Hills WEST WOODLAND HILLS, November 15, 2004 Monday afternoon three Liberty County Sheriffs Department patrol units responded to a burglary in progress in West Woodland Hills on CR 6480. Law Enforcement was notified of the burglary by an alert neighbor. According to the department, Corporal Mark Ellington was first to arrive, finding a young man inside the manufactured home. The suspect refused to come out of the residence as order and Corporal Ellington made entry into the home through the back door. The suspected exited through a bathroom window and fled on foot. The suspect was described as white male juvenile wearing blue jeans and a red shirt. He was soon located nearby and a foot pursuit of about one-quarter mile through heavily wooded terrain and through ravines commenced. The suspect was apprehended on CR 6734, taken into custody and transported to the Sheriffs Office for processing by Juvenile Investigator Larry McMillan. The young man suffered a possible sprained ankle when jumping a ravine loosing his shoe in the mud. He was released into the custody of his parents to seek medical attention.
