Missing Newspaper Vending Machine Recovered DAYTON, November 15, 2004 - On Sunday the Dayton Police Department took a report concerning the theft of a Houston Chronicle Newspaper Vending Machine which was missing from in front of a donut shop in Dayton. Liberty County Sheriffs Department Deputies were investigating suspicious activity at a residence on FM 1409 just north of CR 462 when they discovered the missing newspaper vending machine behind the house. The machine was recovered. It still had the coins in its cash box. Latter Sunday evening Sheriffs Department Deputies went back to the residence finding a man and women leaving the house in a small pickup. Deputies detained them.
It was discovered that the man identified as Justin Michael Tyson age 23 of Orange, TX had an outstanding warrant for parole violation from Ellis County. Hearing this Tyson fled into the woods behind the house leading deputies on a short foot pursuit. He was tackled and placed in custody.
His female companion, identified as Lola Ann George age 20 of Houston was also taken into custody for possession of burglary tools. While searching their truck deputies discovered a white crystalline substance, thought to be methamphetamine in a small plastic bag inside an organizer in the cab of the truck. Tyson was
charged with Evading Arrest and Detention and Possession of a Controlled
Substance. George was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
