Investigation into Missing Rotary Club Funds Completed

LIBERTY, November 15, 2004 – Sgt. Investigator Shannon Bowdoin of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office said today that the investigation into money missing from the Liberty Rotary Club has been completed. It was determined that about $4,190 was missing. The theft of these funds is State Jail Felony Theft.

According to Sgt. Investigator Bowdoin, this theft is a part of the same criminal episode as the funds missing from Allison Funeral Service of Liberty. The investigation into that theft continues.

Parent company of Allison Funeral Service, Carriage Services is in the process of conducting an internal audit to determine the extent of missing funds from that organization.

Charges are anticipated in both of these thefts soon.

Sgt. Investigator Bowdoin stated the suspect in these thefts has retained an attorney and is cooperating in the investigation.
