SPCA Rescues Dogs UPDATE DAYTON, December 30, 2004 - Close to two dozen dogs rescued from a home in Liberty County, are being treated for a variety of diseases and injuries at the Houston SPCA.
Officials say 22 Borzoi (Russian Wolf Hounds) dogs were being kept chained outside in the 12 hundred block of County Road 605 in Dayton.
Investigators say they were living in filthy conditions with no food and little or no shelter.
The animals are suffering from severe hair loss, poor teeth, tumors, and leg injuries. There is no word on what charges, if any, have been filed against the owner. Some photos taken as part of this story were too graphic to publish.
