Gas Prices Continue Falling Across the State
HOUSTON, December 2, 2005 — Gasoline prices continue lower across Texas as motorists enjoy the eighth straight week of relief at the pumps, according to AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch.
The statewide average price for a gallon of regular self serve is $2.058 a gallon — a weekly drop of 5.1 cents. The highest average on the survey this week is the city of Beaumont at $2.133 a gallon — down seven cents from the previous week. Corpus Christi has the lowest average price in the state — $1.887 per gallon, down 5.7 cents from last week.
"Conditions appear right for continued declines at the gas pump through the holiday season," said AAA Texas spokesperson Rose Rougeau. "Texas motorists have experienced eight weeks of lower prices and they should continue falling through December."
The national average for regular self-serve gasoline is $2.136 a gallon — 5.3 cents lower than last week's average.
