Fugitive Flees Seeking Refuge Inside Store

LIBERTY, October 25, 2005 - Shortly before Lewie’s closed at 10:00 PM on Tuesday, Officer Elaine Taylor of the City of Liberty Police Department spotted Robert Daniel Alford age 30 of Liberty.

On Friday Alford was successful in fleeing from officers to avoid arrest on an outstanding warrant for Felony Theft.

On Tuesday evening Officer Taylor knew what she was dealing with when Alford fled from officers again causing them to initiate a foot pursuit.

Units from the Narcotic Task Force, Liberty County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Public Safety assisted in arresting Alford inside the store.

Alford was taken into custody on the outstanding warrant for Felony Theft with additional charges of Fleeing and Evading Arrest and Detention pending and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
