Two from Liberty Injured in Florida Accident

WEST PALM BEACH, FL, November 13, 2005 - Liberty County District Clerk Melody Gilmore and her daughter Wendi Draper were injured in an automobile accident last week in the early morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 5.

Melody and Wendi were in route to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to visit Wendi‚s husband Troy. Troy is working in the restoration of several hospitals  damaged in the recent hurricanes in New Orleans and Florida.

Melody and Wendi were on I-95 near West Palm Beach when they were struck from behind, causing them to lose control of the vehicle and strike a concrete barrier on the edge of the highway.

Melody and Wendi were transported by ambulance to a local hospital where they were treated and released.

They returned to Liberty early in the week and are home recuperating. The vehicle was declared a total loss.
