Red Flag Warning in Effect from 9 am to 6 pm CST Wednesday

LIBERTY, November 15, 2005 - The national weather service in League City has issued a red flag Warning which is in effect from 9 am to 6 pm CST Wednesday.

Strong northerly winds tonight will spread dry air across the Region. Very dry air will be in place Wednesday...while clear Skies will allow temperatures to climb to the upper 50s to around 60. This will yield relative humidities of 17 to 25 percent which when combined with the northerly winds sustained at 14 to 18 mph with gusts of 20 to 25 mph will lead to a high fire danger.

The winds are expected to relax by late Wednesday afternoon.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are expected. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will generate explosive fire growth potential.

Burning should avoided Wednesday.
