Major Accident on Wet Road in Dayton
DAYTON, December 10, 2006 - A major accident occurred on SH 321 in Dayton just south of the Cow Palace Restaurant around 12:00 Noon on Sunday.
According to Dayton Police Officer Chad Addington a northbound Chevy pickup lost control on the wet road surface going into a skid and crossing over into the southbound lane where it was struck by a Dodge pickup traveling south.
The driver of the Chevy pickup, identified as Catherine Jolly age 55 of Humble, TX was not injured. The driver of the Dodge pickup, identified as Tracie Ott age 25 of Baytown, was trapped inside her vehicle.
The Dayton Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene to extricate Ott from the wreckage of her vehicle. Ott was transported by Liberty County EMS to Liberty Dayton Community Hospital for treatment.
A small child riding in a car seat in Ott’s vehicle was not injured.
The investigation by the Dayton Police Department continues.
