Young Man Killed in One Vehicle Accident LIBERTY, November 29, 2006 - Shortly after 6:00 AM on Wednesday a one-vehicle accident claimed the life of the 23-year-old Liberty man.
According to investigators at the scene, Dustin Reed age 23 of Liberty had left his home on CR 1250 and returned, presumably because he had forgotten something.
According to DPS Trooper Jamie Nault the 2002 Chevy Silverado Pickup was traveling westbound on CR 125 at an unsafe speed when the pickup left the dirt road to the left and then to the right. The vehicle went into a sideways skid crashing into a culvert in the deep ditch at the intersection of CR 1250. The vehicle then rolled over on its’ side partially ejecting the driver.
CR 125 is about 12 miles south of Liberty near the old Sulphur Plant off FM 563. Justice of the Peace Phil Fitzgerald conducted an inquest at the scene pronouncing Dustin Reed dead at the scene. Reed’s family is from Anahuac.
