Child Care Providers Conference, Saturday, February 17, 2007

HOUSTON, December 18, 2006 - Caring for children is a circle of learning! Many children spend a majority of their time in day care. There, they grow and develop in the care educated providers. Through continuing education, providers maintain high quality of care for the children they serve. Texas Cooperative Extension wants to help complete the circle of learning by offering educational opportunities for child care providers to enhance the effectiveness of their services.

The Family and Consumer Sciences Agents of Texas Cooperative Extension’s District 9, in the southeast region of Texas, are hosting an annual Child Care Providers Conference. The “Circle of Learning” conference will be conducted 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at the Northland Christian Elementary School, located at 2700 FM 1960 West, Houston, TX 77068. This one-day conference is open to all child care professionals and students enrolled in child development related fields of study. Sessions provide opportunities for people who work in child care settings to learn in a variety of ways about understanding children and their environment to understanding themselves as role models.

Registration begins January 2, 2007 at a fee of $50.00 per person; on-site registration will be available the day of the conference on February 17, 2007 at a fee of $60.00. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be offered for an additional $10.00 at the time of registration.
