Alert Deputy Solves Case Later That Day

HUFFMAN, December 10, 2007 - On November 28, 2007, Deputy Jenkins took a report at the Wal-mart on FM 1960, where a woman's wallet was stolen that contained a Visa credit card.

During the Deputy's initial investigation, he found out the credit card had been used at a General Dollar store in Huffman, and he was given a description of the suspects.

Later that day, Deputy Jenkins was at a store on FM 2100 when he observed a male and female duo that matched the description provided by General Dollar.

He detained the pair and Michelle Messer admitted to using the stolen credit card. Messer, age 46, of Humble, was charged with credit card abuse.

She has been sentenced to serve 3 years probation and was ordered to pay a $300 fine.
