Statewide Average Holds Steady
HOUSTON, March 28, 2008 - The statewide average price for gasoline held steady this week at $3.176 a gallon, only two-tenths of a cent shy of hitting the all time record price set only a week ago, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch.
San Antonio has the lowest average on the survey at $3.12 a gallon, a weekly decrease of a penny. Galveston remains the highest priced on the list at $3.20 a gallon, up nearly a penny from last week.
"Despite the slight decreases in a few Texas regions this week, a gallon of regular self-serve gasoline still remains above $3. That is 70 cents above last year’s prices," said AAA Texas spokesperson Rose Rougeau.
