Dayton Woman Injured in Fall from Truck LIBERTY, March 8, 2008 - Liberty County EMS responded to McDonald’s on US 90 in Liberty for a seriously injured woman lying near the curb in the westbound lane of Highway 90 shortly before 11:00 PM on Friday.
The black woman, described as being in her late thirties or early forties, suffered a serious head injury in a fall from a moving Ford, 4-door pickup truck. She was identified as Delia Asson of Dayton, TX. Although details are sketchy at the time of this report, investigating Officer for the City of Liberty Police Department, Frank Longoria stated witnesses saw the woman fighting with the driver of the pickup as it made the turn from Main Street to travel west on US 90. Longoria stated that the woman fell, was attempting to get away or was pushed from the moving vehicle. After the incident the pickup fled the scene and officers of the Liberty and Dayton Police Departments were attempting to locate the truck and driver at the time of this report. Asson was transported to the Helipad at the Fire Station of Lakeland Drive where she was transferred to the care of Life Flight and flown to Houston’s Hermann Hospital for treatment.
