Car Fire Slows Traffic in River Bottom DAYTON, April 21, 2008 - Shortly before 2:00 PM on Monday, traffic was halted in the westbound lanes of US 90 in the river bottom near the bottom of the Dayton hill due to a car fire.
According to the driver their family was making a trip to the Doctor’s office in Baytown when a fire started in the engine compartment of the vehicle.
The Dayton Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene with two fire engines to put out the stubborn blaze.
Once the fire was out and danger reduced traffic westbound begin flowing in the single westbound lane.
