Police Pursuit Ends in Hardin HARDIN, March 14, 2008 - City of Liberty Police were involved in a high speed pursuit of a late model Dodge Neon around 12:16 AM on Friday that took officers all the way to Coronado Acres Subdivision in Hardin. According to Officer Rolando Aguilar of the City of Liberty Police Department, while on patrol he clocked the speeding Neon traveling north on North Main Street at 82 MPH in a 65 MPH zone, just north of the North Main Baptist Church. He turned around on the vehicle to affect a traffic stop. The vehicle began to speed up in an attempt to flee and passed two other northbound vehicles at high speed near FM 2830.
The vehicle, with Aguilar in pursuit, turned onto CR 2005 into Coronado Acres traveling at a high rate of speed and eventually turned into a private drive in the 1400 block of CR 2005, near the end of the road. Officers went out on the vehicle, occupied by a driver and passenger, at gunpoint.
The passenger identified as Kevin Wayne Harrison age 21 of Hardin was detained briefly by officers at the scene and released to his parents who arrived at the scene to take him home. He is serving in the Air Force and is currently home on leave from his station in Idaho. The driver, identified as Brandi Michele Cryer age 18 of Liberty was taken into custody on charges of Felony Evading in a Motor Vehicle and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
