Woman Injured in One-Car Crash

RAYWOOD, April 16, 2008 - A one-vehicle roll over accident occurred on FM 770 just north of FM 160, near CR 184 late on Wednesday afternoon.

According to DPS Trooper Chad Blackburn, a black Chevy Coupe traveling north on FM 770 ran off the roadway to the right, took faulty evasive action and lost control. The vehicle skidded sideways across the southbound lane and came to rest upside down in the ditch on the west side of the highway.

The driver of the Chevy was Betty Lou Dollery age 61 of Liberty. She was injured in the accident and her car was badly damaged. Hull Daisetta Fire Fighters had difficulty rescuing her from her damaged vehicle utilizing sophisticated extraction tools and air bags to free her arm.

Liberty County EMS transported Dollery to a temporary landing zone at the Hull Daisetta High School where Life Flight landed and flew her to Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Traffic on FM 770 was reduced to a single lane during the investigation and clean up of this accident.
