Vehicles Collide in Hardin

HARDIN, April 14, 2008 - A two-vehicle accident occurred on FM 2058 just north of FM 834 East in Hardin around 5:50 PM on Monday.

According to DPS Trooper Jamie Neault, a Pontiac Vibe, driven by Dewanda Dubbin age 39 of Rye followed by a second car were traveling north on FM 2058 when a Mazda RX-8, driven by Magan Fregia age 19 of Hardin attempted to pass both vehicles.

The Pontiac Vibe was attempting to make a left turn into a private drive when it was stuck by the passing Mazda.

Both vehicle sustained considerable damage in the accident.

Dubbin was transported to by Liberty County EMS to Liberty Dayton Community Hospital with minor injuries.

The Hardin Volunteer Fire Department responded to clean up fluid spills from the Pontiac and manage traffic control at the scene.

FM 2058 was closed for about one hour during the investigation and clean up of this accident.

According to Trooper Neault, Magan Fregia received a citation for Failing to Pass to the Left Safely.
