Female Guard Resigns at Liberty County Jail

LIBERTY, May 2, 2008 - Sheriff Arthur said that on Tuesday, April 29, a female employee of CiviGenics that works as a guard in the New Liberty County Jail on Beaumont Ave.resigned after being questioned by Liberty County Sheriff’s Office investigators about having sex with an male inmate.

The case has been accepted by the District Attorney’s Office and will be presented to the Grand Jury.

The Grand Jury could return an indictment for Violation of Civil Rights of a Person in Custody By Having Sex With That Person. This is a State Jail Felony. Punishment for a State Jail Felony can be confinement for a period of 180 days to 2 years in a state jail and a fine not to exceed $10,000.
