Cleveland Livestock Show is Getting Ready to Roll!

CLEVELAND, April 8, 2008 - The Cleveland Livestock Show & Rodeo is almost here!  It’s time for the folks of Liberty County to show off what they can do!  We are currently accepting entries for the parade and commercial exhibits.  The theme of the parade this year is Pioneer Ways and Western Days.  Leslie Padgett is the chairperson of the committee this year and needs any and all organizations and businesses to contact her in order to get their spot in the line up.  You can contact Leslie at 281-389-4867 for more information.

In addition, we need any and all entries for our commercial exhibit aisle.  If you make a great funnel cake or have handcrafted adorable hair ribbons or anything in between, we’d love to have you sell your goods in our commercial exhibit area.  The spaces are generous and in the past we’ve had food, jewelry, clothing, satellite dishes and cattle for sale in our commercial exhibit aisle.  We’re looking for anybody with anything unique and handcrafted.  If you can do something special with a worn out pair of jeans or make magic happen with a little paint and lots of imagination come to the show! Sarah Redd is the chairperson of that committee and she can be contacted at 832-372-6034.

The show is also getting ready for a new event this year, the kick off dance sponsored by Martin Chrysler Dodge, Cameron Real Estate and Longhorn Power and Equipment.  The dance will be held during the Dodge Pro Rodeo event.  The event will be held at the Civic Center and the charge is $5 to get in.  There will be 2 live bands and concessions available.  Contact Phillip Cameron at Cameron Real Estate to answer any questions you may have or to purchase tickets for the event.

The Dodge Pro Rodeo sponsored in part by Martin Chrysler Dodge is on May 2nd and May 3rd.  The Cleveland Livestock Show & Rodeo Queen’s Contestants are currently selling tickets for this event for $5 each (it’s $7 to get in at the gate).  Find one of those contestants today for a rodeo ticket!  The Ranch Rodeo is April 26th.  Come see some hometown contestants put on a show!  It starts at 7pm and bring your kids with you.  There will be stick horse races at the Ranch Rodeo as well.  Kids will be competing for prizes in the stick horse competition.

Finally, the Cleveland Livestock Show & Rodeo BBQ is on Friday, May 9, 2008 starting at 11am.  Tickets are available for purchase right now!  Contact Ron Whitmire at Ron’s Trophy to get those tickets.
