LCSO Deputy Crashes on North Main

LIBERTY, April 20, 2008 – Liberty County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeremy Marcantel was northbound on North Main Street in Liberty just north of the SH 146 Bypass around 11:00 AM Sunday when he approached another vehicle from the rear. The car in front of Marcantel slowed and did not have any brake lights.

Marcantel took evasive action going into a sideways skid and crashed into a utility pole in the parking lot of the Lazy H.

Marcantel was transported to Liberty Dayton Community Hospital where he was examined and released.

The Department of Public Safety investigated the accident and issued a couple  of citations to the other driver include one for having No Brake Lights.
