County Judge Appoints New Emergency Management Coordinator

LIBERTY, April 29, 2008 - On Monday, County Jude Phil Fitzgerald designated Thomas E. Branch to serve as Liberty County Emergency Management Coordinator replacing the retiring Ken DeFoor who has served in that position since June of 2006.

Thomas Branch is a Tarkington Resident who has served with the Cleveland Police Department and as the Chief Deputy for the San Jacinto county Sheriff’s Department for twelve years. Branch will begin his duties as Emergency Management Coordinator immediately.

The Office of Emergency Management's new address is 2400 Beaumont St., which is in the County Jail Administration Building immediately East of the Sheriff's Department. The actual office is located immediately adjacent to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) room.

For the past year and a half the "new" office number has been (936) 334-3219. Even though the "old" number of 336-4558 would still ring, along with the new number, in the Annex Building Office, ONLY the "new" number of 334-3219 will ring in the new office location. The "4558" number and extension of 239 has "gone away" and we can no longer be reached at that number.
