Major Accident on FM 1413 DAYTON, April 17, 2008 - Life Flight transported an accident victim to Houston for the second time in less than five hours around 10:53 PM on Wednesday.
According to investigating DPS Trooper Troy Dyson, a late model Ford pickup, traveling north on FM 1413 failed to negotiate the sweeping curve just south of US 90 west of Dayton.
Trooper Dyson stated that the driver, Edvin Fernando Galo age 26 of Humble entered the curve at an unsafe speed and he is suspected of being intoxicated. After the pickup left the roadway it went into a sideways skid, impacted a culvert sending it rolling end over end.

She had been ejected from the vehicle as it rolled over. Liberty County EMS responded to the scene and prepared Solo for flight. The Dayton Volunteer Fire Department set up a temporary landing zone on FM 1413 just north of the accident scene. Life Flight landing and Solo was transferred to their care and flown to Houston’s Hermann Hospital having never regained consciousness. Citations or Charges in the accident are unclear at press time. They could include Unsafe Speed, possible DWI or Intoxication Assault pending further investigation by the Department of Public Safety as well as the outcome of Carla Solo’s medical condition.
