Early Morning House Fire in Westlake WESTLAKE, April 15, 2008 - Around 4:40 am Tuesday morning a house fire located at 19 CR 4436 off CR 443 in Westlake was reported by the homeowners daughter Hannah Wingate.
The homeowner, Rick Landry stated that his wife Sherrie woke up smelling smoke in the home. A fire had started on the front porch. Mr. Landry tried putting it out with his water hose, but due to a loss of power his water shut off. When the Westlake Volunteer Fire Dept. arrived the house was fully engulfed. The Westlake VFD, Dayton VFD and Mont Belvieu Fire Department responded to fight the blaze.
Rick Landry and his wife Sherrie have lived in the home for 19 years. Their daughter Hannah and her husband Marcus Wingate and infant son Luke 5 months were also living at the residence as well as another granddaughter 2 yr old Aubrey Bird. Everyone got out safely. By Marie Henson
